Comprised entirely of Congolese musicians, the group stands as a leading ambassador of rumba music beyond the borders of Congo itself. Founded by guitarist Ghaby Mumba, a native of Kinshasa, the band members bring a wealth of musical experience from their diverse backgrounds and previous engagements with various local bands. Drawing inspiration from the iconic OK Jazz style, as well as jazz and rock 'n' roll influences, The Real Sounds Of Africa delivers an exhilarating fusion of sound that pays homage to the rich traditions of Congolese rumba while adding their own innovative flair.
